Bookmobile & Community Resource Fair – Stories that Connect Us
Bringing Books, Resources, and Joy to Our Community

This September, the Forsyth County Bookmobile and United Way of Forsyth & Dawson partnered to bring books, learning activities, and essential resources directly into the community. Together, we visited more than 10 schools and neighborhoods, helping ensure that every child has access to enriching learning experiences close to home.
Throughout the month, more than 350 children and parents joined us to explore new stories, participate in hands-on literacy activities, and connect with community partners dedicated to supporting family success. The Bookmobile brought excitement and opportunity to every stop — creating spaces where families could learn, play, and grow together.
What Families Experienced
During each visit, families were able to:
-
Browse and borrow books from the Forsyth County Bookmobile
-
Participate in simple, fun, literacy-building activities
-
Learn about local educational and support resources
-
Spend quality time reading and exploring stories together
Parents shared their appreciation for having the Bookmobile come directly to their area — especially when access to transportation or time constraints make it challenging to visit the library in person.
Why Bookmobile Matters
Reading together is one of the most powerful ways to support a child’s academic success and lifelong learning.
🔹 Quick fact: Reading just 15 minutes a day adds up to more than 90 hours of learning each year.
By collaborating with the Forsyth County Bookmobile, United Way is helping families build strong reading habits, foster curiosity, and ensure all children have access to literacy resources — regardless of where they live.
